Some universities and lvn colleges even provide students with scholarships to help them fund their education in the school. The gamut of responsibilities of an lvn extends beyond basic patient care. Sometimes, in certain states, the lvns are required to take care of newborn babies. Thus, both neonatal as well as postnatal care is included as part of the job profile of lvns in such cases. In certain other states, lvns need to help terminally ill patients. In such scenarios, the lvns need to stay on a continual basis with the family members and the patient as part of home care. In other cases, the responsibilities of lvns extends to more specialized functions such as administration of medication, anesthesia and much more.
